Christmas Production

Posted in Ramblings with tags , on December 11, 2008 by John

Life has been busy!  Along with everythinistmasg else going on I have been working on our Christmas production at church.  We have worked as late as 3am preparing for 6 performances.  There are like 400 people involved, 30 of them are on our tech team.  We have about 64 channels of audio running along with a Pro Tools rig for playback.  We expect attendance to be better than 12000 people between all of the performances.  It has definitely been a challenge but we have managed to produce a Broadway production.  Tonight starts our first performance, wish us luck!

Driving In

Ok, so it’s Monday morning a new week lies ahead all kinds of thoughts are racing through my mind.  I’m listening to a recording to yesterdays service and wondering what happened to the feed to the recorder, and figured there were some mixes in the matrix that I didn’t want or need.  Then I look up and the first car I am behind has our new Lift sticker that we just gave out yesterday in their window.  Now how cool was that!  Definitely put a smile on my face!  I can’t wait to see more cars around town with those stickers and seeing that we are impacting a community with God’s Word!

Faith, Family and Freedom

So a group of us from The Lift went to 91.9 ’s Faith, Family and Freedom Concert tonight.  7 Mile, Britt Nicole and the Newsboys put on a great show.  I now have a new respect for the Newsboys after seeing them live and hearing Peter Furler preach and give testimony.  If you haven’t seen them live I suggest you do.  It was great getting to spend time with my fellow Lifters and wife, I guess we can list this one as one of our date nights. It was a great evening topped off with a awesome fireworks show!

Another thankful day.

Today was a good day at church even though I am still struggling with getting the sound the band wants.  Slowly I am making strides but not quick enough.  Just when I think I have one problem fixed a new one pops up along with some old ones that haven’t gone away yet.  So what made it a good day?  Well one the sound wasn’t the worst I have heard and our pastor delivered a great message.  Then it continued at the service this evening with an even better message.  Mike and Kim Blackwood did a great job on an acoustical set tonight as well.  But the message from Pastor Mike was one of those messages that just fills your heart to be in awe and thankful for all that God has done and has still to do in your life.  I am thankful that God has placed me where he has.  Hopefully I can sharpen my skills quickly and help provide a worship experience that moves even that one lost soul to accept the love of Jesus.
