All the answers

Ok, so I now have this blog. So I just write about anything and everyone shows up to answer all my questions, right? So where does everyone come from how do they get here? Will you find me at all? I have been following some very interesting blogs on here like Carlos Wittaker , Van Metschke , Dave Stagl and websites from New Spring Church, Buckhead Productions and many more. From what I see most of these people are very blessed with talent, love the Lord and have great jobs. I got lucky about 13 or 14 weeks ago and fell right into a FOH position at The Lift. Let me explain that I had some experience with sound but not the knowledge you would expect someone to have with a service like that ones we are creating at The Lift. But so far everyone has been very patient with me on my fast track learning curve. I read all I can and then experiment on the board with the limited time I have between rehearsal and the service (we have to set up and tear down the set every weekend) without messing up the sound. Plus I own my on business and work more than full time. Anyways the guys and gals I work with are great. Lance Bradley is our Creative Pastor, Mike Blackwood is our Worship Leader, Mike Bell and Clay Slatton make up the rest of the creative team. They have all been very understanding and patient with me, especially when I know that they would like someone with a little more experience than I have in this type of venue. With all that being said that’s why I’m here to learn from others, to get any help I can, to serve Our Savior and be part of the great commission.

Why am I blogging?

Its late and I just signed up to Twitter and now blogging. I used to stay up-to-date on all the high tech stuff but just haven’t seemed to make time to do that kind of thing anymore. But here recently I started attending a new church that just happened to be starting a more contemporay service along with all of the other great things they do there. Its called The Lift, located in Indian Trail, NC just outside of Charlotte. Its funny how God works sometimes and puts you in the right place at the right time. Well back to why I am here. See not only do I get to attend this great church but I get to serve there as well. I get the opportunity to run FOH at the Lift, what little bit I thought I knew about running sound went right out the window when I got behind the board at The Lift. Anyways I get to serve along some great people and of course they all have iphones, apples, ipods and anything else MAC makes or will make. So now I am playing catch up but its all good. I have also been reading blogs from other churches which have been great for getting technical and creative ideas. Maybe one day I can return the favor.
